FAQ

I make pottery in small batches and each one is handmade and unique – with its own subtleties in shape, glaze break, or slight unevenness along the rim. Sometimes, I hand-carve, alter, and manipulate the clay to form ununiform and unique silhouettes. I try my best to capture those imperfectly perfect details in the item description and photos.

Are your ceramics dishwasher and food safe?

All of my functional ceramics, small batch pottery, and hanging planters are dishwasher safe but, I do recommend hand washing as the best way to prolong the life of your investment.

Porcelain and stoneware with matte glazes may stain with prolonged contact with tomatoes, beets, turmeric, chili pepper pastes (harissa, samba, chili crisp, etc) or other typically staining foods. When in doubt, leave it out.

All items are not intended for the oven unless noted.

What is Paracord and why do you use it?

I use paracord (also known as parachute cord or 550 cord) on my hanging planters as an alternative to rope or twine because of its durability in indoor and outdoor settings. Paracord is a lightweight, nylon kernmantle (inner core protected by a woven outer sheath) rope originally used in suspension lines of parachutes. It's 100% made in the USA and mold, mildew, and rot resistant.

Can I pickup my item at your Seattle studio?

Yes! Simply enter "StudioPickup" in the discount area at checkout - this will remove shipping costs. Please plan on picking up your items within two weeks of purchase. For hours and address, please email orphanten@gmail.com and include your order number.

Can you pack and ship my order today?

Possible but not probable. I make every effort to process orders quickly but I am generally unplugged when I'm throwing on the wheel. My current Shipping Policy for order processing is 3-5 days. I am a one woman show but when my hands are not covered in clay or glaze, I will try to accomodate special requests on a case by case basis.

I want to buy a gift. What is your shipping and return policy?

Awesome! Please visit the Shipping & Returns page for details and let me know if you want me to include a short handwritten note with your gift in the "Special Instructions" of Checkout.

What happens if my item is damaged in transit?

If you receive an item that is damaged please contact me immediately. All damages must be reported within 48 hours upon receiving your order so that we can sort out a refund with the carrier. Please visit the Shipping & Returns page for details.

When is your next online restock?

I'm constantly developing new designs and glazes so I do not have a set inventory. I plan to have seasonal sales and will send advance notice via email to my mailing list when new collections are about to launch.
