As a fourth-generation Seattleite, I am immensely proud and loyal to the small businesses in my community.
Having lived in a tiny studio in the University District, a warehouse loft in SoDo, an old brick apartment building in Madison Park, and various dwellings in nearly every neighborhood - I’m especially smitten with my current neighborhood in the south end. My dad and my grandfather were born a few miles away from my studio, and my grandparents met at Franklin High School.

Slightly beyond my neighborhood, these three female-owned small businesses have been amazing allies in creating space for my work and champion other local artists in their boutiques or popups.
Clearly, this list barely scratches the surface of great local establishments in South Seattle. The idea stemmed from asking friends to shop South Seattle last weekend in exchange for homemade takeout pizza. Since most of the work was done, I decided to add to the list and publish it here.
